Account Administration

How to access your Control Panel
You may access your online control panel in the following way:
https://www.cincywebservers.com:8443
Use the account login and password that was emailed to you after setting up your account.

How to change your password.
Enter your control panel using the username and password that was e-mailed to you, and click on the "Setup" icon.
When changing your password, remember the following :
1. Your password can only be 8 characters long.
2. Changing your password here also changes the MySQL password for the "admin" or "root" user of your site.

How to publish your site.
One of the most important steps in setting up your account is publishing your site to the Internet. There are many programs that will allow you to upload your web files. Here are a few examples of programs that are compatible with our service :
Netscape Composer
Macromedia Dreamweaver
Adobe GoLive
We do not support Microsoft Front Page.

Just about any type of FTP client will work, a few examples are :
WS_FTP
CuteFTP
Bulletproof FTP
Fetch

NOTE: When uploading your files, be sure to name your home page index.html, index.htm or index.php, as this is how our system recognizes it as your main page. Understand by DEFAULT when your account is created a default "index.html" file is created as a place holder. So if you use any other type of index page such as index.php, or index.htm you will have to remove the index.html to see your website.

You will need this information to set up ftp access:

Host: www.yourdomain.com
You will need your ftp login info and password.

Remote Directory: /httpdocs

How to set up your E-Mail accounts
Enter your control panel , look under Services. Click on the "Mail" icon. Once inside of the Mail Manager, click on "Add New Mail Name ". Enter the mail alias you desire, and a password. If you want the account to be webmaster@your_domain.com , then you would enter "webmaster" and just about any combination of letters and numbers that you'd like as your password. Note: passwords can not contain the email account name.

NOTE: You will not be able to receive E-Mail until your domain name is active. If you cannot view your website on the internet using the domain name, then you most likely will not be able to receive any E-Mail.

Setting up your email client to retrieve your email
There are several programs you can use to access your email. One of course is Microsoft Outlook Express, or Outlook. Another option is Mozilla Thunderbird.

Information you will need to know to set up your email.
You will need to know your POP and SMTP account information to set up your email client.

POP: mail.yourdomain.com
SMTP: mail.yourdomain.com / or your current ISP's SMTP settings.

Your user name / password.

Understand your email account requires authentication if you use your domain email for SMTP.
